Hold

How do you hold onto an ocean current?
There are continents pulling to get away.

Sunspots are forming from your grip.
These tides rise as high as a moon.

The seas are calling and beckoning.
Can you not hear our cries?

The backdrop is hope.
It went missing from the wide blue sky.

How do you tell heaven to kneel?
Your indigo is a ruse.

Still, are there not galaxies forming under your will?
We collide and bruise.

6 Feet

Shallow whether grave or shallow whether bone;
6 feet in a box is where you both belong.

I don’t like them, if that wasn’t obvious in the poem

The Day I End

There she is, it is death on the horizon
And follow my sorrows she will
Until the day I end

There it goes, all the light from the Sun
I was looking for love where none of it was real
I was looking for hope in any direction I could ascend

There it flows, my hope is on the run
And bring with it a fear that covers with chill
While the devil whispers softly “suicide is your friend”

All Bets Off

He does not exist anywhere except for on this page
And in a downward spiral my sadness turns to rage
The crowd keeps applauding though we both have left the stage
And if I ever mattered is now difficult to gauge

Will my heart always remain behind a cage?
That’s a bet for losing and I haven’t any wage
I’d ask him for forgiveness but I never act my age
I’d ask him for a hand but I know he won’t engage

Atmosphere

It can disappear as quickly as it can appear
I won’t even need to yell all clear
It only takes seconds for my heart to veer
I don’t need you in my atmosphere
I won’t even shed a tear
Only the worthy are allowed here
Feel free to harbor all your fear
You’ll soon find it’ll grow more severe
Your happiness fading each year
A bleak existence your only frontier
But I will never reappear
I bid you farewell my dear
