Sorry Won’t Do It (a blues rift)

People always pushing, always rushing, like they’re racing to die
They will try to hide it but you can see it in their eye
I don’t know what I’m doing but I know it’s going to make me cry
And I know you said you’re sorry but sorry won’t do it this time

I need to get this on my guitar. Bluesy style. Or even industrial (but it’s bluesy in my head. And I don’t know yet if it’s a verse or a chorus).

A Song For The Heart

In a different place
In another world
With a different face
And another girl

With a different heart
Better spoken word
Where we never part
And we’re always heard

With a different life
Not a lonely one
Where I am his wife
And my heart he has won

It’s a full moon rising
It’s a love worth shining
It’s a full moon rising
It’s a love worth climbing

Edges

Keep on crawling to the edge
of his love

Keep on falling off the ledge
from his shove

Keep on calling
though he’s not home

Keep on bawling
on my own

He keeps stalling
from this love

I keep befalling from his words

Keep on rolling down
where he roams

Always on the edge of his ledge

Always on the ledge of giving up

Always on the edge of his grudge

Always on the ledge of his love

Always on the edge of his touch

Always on the ledge of loving him too much

Always on the edge of forgiving this one

My Favorite Lie

It’s what I tell myself to get by, my favorite lie
And one I never use but on myself

If said with a sigh, it’s likely I’ll cry
So I smile and draw a cross upon my chest

There may be a time, I hid more in rhyme
But now there’s really only one left

If put in a book, I know you would look
So I hid the only one on my shelf

Ironclad

You can’t navigate the future by ignoring the past
It’s quick like lightning, our lives flash by so fast
If we don’t steer straight, might get lost in the vast
Nothing’s ironclad and we’re not built to last
Hate is bred, love can’t be forecast

Even now my mood has already passed
Though you never thought to even ask
Why my smile is hidden underneath your mask
To carry it alone is quite a challenging task
But thanks for allowing me under you to bask
