People always pushing, always rushing, like they’re racing to die
They will try to hide it but you can see it in their eye
I don’t know what I’m doing but I know it’s going to make me cry
And I know you said you’re sorry but sorry won’t do it this time

I need to get this on my guitar. Bluesy style. Or even industrial (but it’s bluesy in my head. And I don’t know yet if it’s a verse or a chorus).

This definitely sounds lyrical to put to music, more like a verse than a chorus. I had a similar thought the other day to put into poem how people are prone to rushing. Hopefully people have learned to manage that during quarantine, or perhaps forced into slowing things down.

They haven’t slowed down here at all, and very few wearing mask when out. I came up with this driving home from grocery shopping, and didn’t want to forget it. I hope I can come up with chords for it, and I definitely feel like it’s more of a verse as well. Thank you for commenting! 😊
