Glimpses

I have glimpses of a life I’ve never known
There’s stitches in my heart where he has sewn
There’s wishes leaking out of every bone
There’s pieces of me in him I call home

There’s fences keeping eyes where they belong
There’s chances never learning right or wrong
And dances never settling in song
Circumstances keeping everyone withdrawn

So I did a little recording thingy of Glimpses: https://tuners.io/tracks/15399

For the record, all my poems are new. I bleed poetry.

My subconscious or other worldy being is creating memories of a life with him that never existed because it can’t bear to live any part without him, and the regret is carving deeper rivers than I care to run. Love is love. But why is he scared of it? He’s just too selfish to part with his ways and he’s got a sex addiction he needs to get a grasp on. I mean God damn if Trent Reznor can be kinky and loyal why can’t there be other dudes!?! He’s the only guy I’ve ever asked to marry me by the way (Reznor that is) and it’s in the Nine Inch Nails archives somewhere and Trent Reznor did not say no and he answered my music questions too. That’s actually a nice real memory as opposed to the fake memories my brain is having to create because it loves a dude that won’t have anything to do with me…

I asked Trent Reznor to marry me, LOL I love me so much… that was back when he had an actual fanclub and he was active in the NIN message boards. You had to be in the club to get there. And when he did way with fanclubs, he made us permanent members (kinda of). I haven’t logged in, in a minute, I need to get over there. And to another gig. I’ve had stage every time, but have never officially met Trent. He’s on like kid number 5 now!?! She is popping out them babies god bless her, lucky bitch… Anyhoo, I’m totally gaga for the dude this poem is about, he knows who he is. Hi. I love you still. You know I’m your favorite love. Masks won’t hide fate. Or you from me. Sorry, not sorry. “I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo, what the hell am I doing here…”

What do you think an angels tear is worth? I’ve cried a million for him…

I LOVE Y’ALL ✌

Carry You

I posted a song uncut and unfiltered on Tuners Radio, despite my crippling stage fright. I’ve never even been able to do open mic night or karaoke. I’d love your feedback though. Go easy on me. 😇

You can listen here: https://tuners.io/tracks/14915

P.S. my muse Alex Ebert not only gave it like but added it to one of his playlist on Tuners Radio (he’s literally won Oscars for his music but that’s not why I love him)!! 😍

Lyrics:

It was something that they put you through
It makes no sense at all
If you will let me carry you
I promise not to fall

I can take care of you
But only if you want
I’m strong enough to carry you
Though sometimes I may crawl

Hang on, hang on, hang on
ohhhhh ohhhhh ohhhhh ohhhh

Icebergs

His failures are beautiful strokes of lightning
The waterfall running
A beautiful warning
A star still forming
A winter mourning

He falls like icebergs crumbling in the sea
A white snowfall covering the trees
The wind in the evening as you finally feel the breeze
A moment of reckoning that brings you to your knees

The Garden of Us

Maybe if he understood the need
How longing is growing like a weed
And in between the distance and the stars that truly listen
I know he’d rather have me in the lead

Maybe if I took the time to plead
And nurtured space like it was a seed
The stuff that would be growing is the energy in knowing
That fate will come to help us both succeed

Real Life War Stories on Tuners Radio

Hi y’all. For the first time ever I’m starting to share War Stories on my Tuners radio channel and the thread got a reply from Alexander Ebert!!! This might be the first time I’ve ever heard a guy say they want to hear my poetry, and it’s coming from my muse, stop the fucking press! 🤓 I was actually worried that it would be boring and a waste of time to share war stories, and maybe not the right time even but then I got a response from Alex and his reply is just amazing! I’ll have to scramble up my war poems but now I’m inspired to write an even better one. Talking about war is not something I normally do, but I’m starting to open up and share more on my Tuners so be sure you follow and tune in! It’s free to listen and use (you can even use it anonymously). I hope you give it a listen!

Our Life Is An Epic Poem

Our life is an epic poem
Like the Great Red Spot on Jupiter
Our pain is our greatest storm
And we burrow and we rise in perfect form

Struggles are ingredients to our lives
And we sprinkle bits of honey on the knives
And we reach such depths in our dives
But this is how all life thrives

In our toolkit we have so much courage
We eat our sadness like it is porridge
We peer into darkness where we flourish
And our will becomes an endless forage

Alex Ebert inspires me so much, in every possible way. His pep talk on Tuners radio hit a core. I am grateful for him. For being able to learn and grow and not be stagnant in my woe. But to flourish and thrive. You cannot have light without the dark. And so I see my darkness in a new light. And so I take these waves to greater heights, as I settle in the cold black night. Everything’s gonna be alright. Just gotta get through the bite. Then sight. If you struggle with depression or suicidal thoughts and ideation, you really should go listen to his pep talk, it’s under 2 minutes but maybe the greatest lesson of my life. Listen for free (no download needed): https://tuners.io/tracks/13446

I also dropped this poem as a spoken word reply under his thread “You Are Courageous” under Alex’s Tuners Radio account, if you wanna have a listen: https://tuners.io/tracks/13492

Unrequited Love on Tuners

I dropped a thread on Tuners Radio under my pen PoeEternal about unrequited love + a short original poetry reading on Tuners, have a listen now (free app to listen and use): https://tuners.io/users/POEETERNAL

So I’ve committed to using Tuners more, as I said before recently in a blog post. If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s a great app to use, and you don’t even have to download anything to listen/tune in. 👍

*UPDATE* Jena Malone left a beautiful reply today, she is a queen (I’m certain you’ve seen her in a movie even if you’re not aware you saw her in a movie).

I currently have this running in my Insta story cuz it’s hella cool but you can listen free on Tuners 🙂 https://tuners.io/users/POEETERNAL

You are fabulous! Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my words! Thanks for your likes, comments or shares! Thank you for returning to read more! Thank you for following me if you are! I am grateful for each and every one of you no matter where you are in the world! It means so much to me that you take the time to read my poetry.

Here is a quick thank you video because I wanted to be able to tell you verbally how much it means! You also get a chance to meet me very briefly.  Direct link to my thank you video is here: https://youtu.be/IcNLKgwjL_U

p.s. I’m aware this should have probably been completed at 10k but I am always late to the party! =)

Gavin Rossdale Visits The Kevin & Bean Morning Show

The Kevin & Bean Show recently interviewed lead singer of Bush, Gavin Rossdale.

I submitted a question to KROQ and they delivered it to Gavin around 9 minutes in of this interview. I was uncertain that they would even use my question because it is such a somber subject and Gavin was on air likely to talk about the upcoming new album and new tour. The host told Gavin that it was a really nice compliment, and Gavin replied wow, that’s beautiful. He went on to share a really personal memory and his feelings on the matter. He then directly speaks to me by saying my name (Delia), telling me he thought what I said was beautiful and he made me a promise.

I’ve been following Gavin since the early 90s when Bush emerged. I’ve been part of the alternative scene since then too, and the city I lived in at the time was nothing but country and back roads (the alt scene was not hip or popular there).

I’ve lived through the loss of Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland (and so many more I cherish) through drugs and suicide. With Keith Flint of Prodigy having just died by suicide (and knowing all the terrible things that Gavin has recently gone through), it absolutely made me worry.

So Gavin’s promise to me means a great deal. He never says anything he doesn’t mean. Every moment I’ve had with him is to be cherished. He’s my hero, he’s my muse. He gives me light in an otherwise dark world. Watching him go through his own trials and tribulations have given me strength and encouragement to go on, he teaches me lessons that would go unlearned. I too am like a wolf, a lone wolf anyway. I prefer coywolf because I am a half-breed.

This interview is amazing because he shares such personal insight on very somber matters. But it’s even more special to me because of his promise he makes to me.

I’m honored he finds my words beautiful of him, he deserves beautiful things. You guys should go catch him on tour and join the Bush Army bandwagon. I’m praying for miracles that I can see them for my birthday, as they will be here!

(Praying for some eBay sales, gotta pay my ride first tho)! Thank you to everyone who has bought me Bush tickets these past couple years. Indebted to you.

If you want to know what makes me happy, this is one of them. “This cloud, this cloud, this cloud…”
