Reflection

He has heaven in his eyes but he will show you the abyss
You can call him by his name though he may not answer by it
For he is blind to his reflection and unaware of his own existence
But I would recognize him anywhere, in any mask, for he is hard to miss
He has iron in his touch and heavy is the one to hold the fist
Building foundations of regret from the lips of a poet
And softly does he roam all the roads of my heart and spirit

Sweet Nothings

I pull fragments of my dreams out of my center
I carefully knead them with love until they are tender
I tie them with hope and a sign that spells ENTER
They are filled with sweet nothings to get you through winter

So off with the wind, I have to send you my love dear
And if you can imagine, it’s just like I’m whispering in your ear
I stand on my tippy-toes so I make sure you can hear me clear
Then I gently kiss your lips and remind you there’s nothing to fear

Micropoetry

I sail through life on my own
It helps when feeling alone –
To remember we both see the same Moon
Then my loneliness fades to about a teaspoon

My loneliness clumps into bands of dark matter, my heart swelling like a balloon, my molecules ripping and stretching into oblivion, for her shadow is like dark energy, and selfish is the darkness she needs.

If not real, give me fake
Bleed me good, nest in my ache

How can I move on when my heart is where he is.

Untangle the worry
Braid the hope
Insert the key
Climb his rope

I know I’m not her and I know I’ll never be
It still makes me wonder if you ever think about me

The space between us
The distance to Venus
The orbits of loss
Our love was a near miss

I still feel the ripple
It hit me like triple
A vortex of riddle
But our love is simple

Her love comes with maggots
But still he’ll have it

He wants to own it all, without conquering
He doesn’t want me for himself, or anybody else
He doesn’t want me in the arms of another king
He wants to own my heart and not give me a thing

I don’t see how this plan is fair for me
You sit there feasting while I am starving

All the paths I take lead into a different darkness of you
And every skin you shed leaves a different kind of clue

Put on the blind, if you want to take the ride, he demanded
Into a field of doom, I glided

We are born into this world and given a number and if you’re lucky you’ll get a good mother

I’m sorry but life is just so tough and when it comes to love there isn’t enough

My love, my will is infinite
These roads were paved for the misfit
These hands were made to capture it
These feet march on and never quit
My soul for you is completely naked
Under your mirror I will submit
By your side I will commit
With your love I can exist

There’s more but I just can’t bear it…

Orpheus

Deeper deeper deeper, she said
Beware, there’s demons everywhere
In the underworld, keep your eyes ahead
Once you go, don’t look back, or I’m dead
And the pain will never stop circling
Your life will always be full of dread
Keep your eyes on the prize instead
Or Hades will keep me prisoner by his bed
Don’t look back, cuz you won’t find me there

I wrote this a while back but never thought it good enough to share…

Destiny

How do you awake someone to their destiny

I know I slip-up but he’ll always get the best of me

And when I foul, I’ll accept my penalty

And if you wonder how much I fuck up, well, that’s an endless sea

And it when it comes to loving me, the best I can hope for is, ‘eventually’

I trust that love and patience, is the right recipe

Growth

I could run along the meadows where I’m wild and free
I could run into the ages until he’s tired of watching me
I can erase all the shadows where the light can never reach
I can remove all the lessons that he ever failed to teach
I should grow a tongue that has better speech

I would dance away the loneliness with every aching hour
I would step with hope and fill him with a love that gives him power
I will let him trample over me collecting each wildflower
I will let him pull the weeds from me that make me feel a coward
I am growing every second where I feel his light encounter

Longing

Oh dear gates of sorrow, pass me through!
I bow and give it all to you
My remorse is as full as the Moon
The way it shines, I shine for you too
Because your light still reaches truth
And when it comes to loving you
It can never be too soon

Oh my longing is as warm as the Sun!
And when it reaches me, I come undone
The way he teaches me, as if I’m the only one
And if ever facing regret, there isn’t none
And when it comes to life, you make me burn
And if I see your eyes, my own brighten
If you change your mind, I’m never done

From Peasant To Queen

He pushed me to lands that were unknown inside me
Mountains evolved from my limbs that were binding
Heart was renewed by the hand that was guiding
Tongue was replenished with warmth that was hiding

Vision was given to eyes that were unseen
Life had been missing since I was just a teen
Now as I stand with a purpose and a dream
Although just a peasant he treats me as a queen

Truth

Well there it is, the color of truth
It matches all the hues of you
You evoke in me the spirit of youth
And shadows dance amongst you too
Wherever you smile an enemy withdrew
Flower power any hour in your avenue

3 AM me. But also, the sweetest girl you could ever meet.
Messy 3 AM me
My hair is getting long and this pleases me. I’ve been growing it out since I left the Army.
Hair as fine as silk so it tangles with the wind. PEACE ✌

Aftermath

Do you ever regret building my wall?
Do you ever feel anything at all?

Are you even aware of what you lost?
Can you feel the weight of its cost?

Are you proud of the pain you caused?
The red flags raised and lines you crossed?

The bridges burned, the lies you craft
Did you all, have a good laugh?

I gave you love, you fed me wrath
I still dwell in the aftermath

Bottom Feeder

It looks like he picked her up from the bottom of the sea
Her flaming hair so course it could be used as a net
He says he’s free yet takes a knee
And kisses her like she’s Juliet

She sounds as though a broken record
And he licks her like a honeybee
Around her web he spins his chord
While she pretends that she is me

She acts as though she is reward
For someone less worthy
She’s not the only one adored
And she is far from holy

Freelove 101

I love without consent
Real freedom as intent
True love as it’s meant
Never with resent

They see me without worth
Or maybe something worse
Yet still it’s love I birth
And free to all on Earth

I love without return
In peace and rarely scorn
A fire that will not burn
And every direction turned

“Why doesn’t he love me daddy. Why?”

Higher

Higher than the mountains he is
Taller than New York

Deeper than the ocean he brings
A light to pave the dark

Round and round a spiral he springs
Making love his watermark

The road he paves was left for kings
As the spirit of the patriarch

Galaxies form from the words he sings
It’s a journey I will embark

He has the power to spread my wings
And he did it from the start

Birth

I feel his smile like a dream I cannot recall
Or if I’ve ever even felt at all
For in his smile I am growing tall
In every instance I break down my wall

My step is softer and I touch with grace
And though I falter he still holds my place
And if I’m near he’ll slow down his pace
Months go by and he still knows my face

I did a reading of this on the app Tuners under my pen name POEETERNAL

Core

Mountains of misery disappear
When he draws near
Happiness is a new frontier
Deserts are flooded into an ocean
There rising in the flood is my devotion
In every direction I feel emotion
Waves of joy as his magic potion
Softer now becomes the shore
A smile is always his best decor
He always leaves you wanting more
He fixes what is broken in your core

Excited about THE MATRIX 4!!!!

Meteorite

Every now and then I see him
Like an eclipse in the sky, so rare
His eyes are an endless ocean to swim
And I feel him everywhere

His darkness shines so bright
Never filling me with fright
My love crashed him like a meteorite
And now the stars are filled with light

I feel him like a volcano
His poetry gave me my halo
Inside me swirls a tornado
My desire and love his credo

My birthday is tomorrow! (August 19th) ((And I think about you all the time))

Truth Comes Hard

Truth came hard like thunder, the sky opened her eyes, flush with rage, she whipped across the night, striking melodies of discord, a witness to betrayal, an immediate downpour of reason, she licks blood from the spear of doubt, her shout echoes into the distant memory of what was, what ever could be, lies dance in ballerina shoes into neverland, but truth comes hard like thunder. I open my gates to her fury, for she is my sister and cry together we did.

Early morning thoughts of truth in my pjs… plus an early morning snap while still sleepy-eyed cuz I wake up like this… messy & honest (it’s a lonely place to be amongst a world of lies).

Thoughts n’ Thangs

He laps her like a loyal dog chained by the guardian of hell, her purgatory – his territory

He kissed me and the Earth started to spin…

You could have just loved me the way that I deserved.

I shriveled up and died of unimportance, in case you hadn’t noticed…

Nothing I love ever makes it home.

Love. Love. What love?
It fits more like a tourniquet
I don’t want any part of it

My eyes met his eyes which awakened parts of my spirit unknowingly sleeping and even now my pulse dances anew…

He looked deeply into my eyes and said he wanted to make love to my sorrow –
So that the eyes looking back would look forward to tomorrow

She tied the anchor to my foot and pushed me off the plank while yelling, “at least you got some good poetry out of it…”

His smile made me whole. His love is a lighthouse in a dark galaxy.

All Bets Off

He does not exist anywhere except for on this page
And in a downward spiral my sadness turns to rage
The crowd keeps applauding though we both have left the stage
And if I ever mattered is now difficult to gauge

Will my heart always remain behind a cage?
That’s a bet for losing and I haven’t any wage
I’d ask him for forgiveness but I never act my age
I’d ask him for a hand but I know he won’t engage
