He stands on the shore with an expression on his face resembling shame

It’s as if, by looking at me, I have the power to make him clean

The blue in his eyes faded, at precisely the moment, I withdrew

The hour came down so heavy, the moment that he knew

He stands as if his arms are holding all the pain

Or a brace, for the fall, it is certain after all

For I’m on a ship he never seems to reign

And I’m watching him with eyes that never strain

Looking back though, I never meant to blame

I feel my face harden, my cheeks a rosey garden, my tears now offer pardon

Because you brought my life its value

And as the waves start to accrue, just like my love for you, no matter what you do, so with a sigh or two, I slowly come unglue, because I’m not exactly sure what to do

And my only thought is how I need you too…

Narrow Views

Narrow views, he once said
Then I killed where it bled

Narrow views, I declined
He only speaks when he’s blind

Narrow views, they bring me down
Now I roam this empty ghost town

Narrow views, is your hue
It matches every silhouette of you

Narrow views, in her mind
But still she closed his blind

Narrow views, the two will find
As they circle where confined

Narrow views, and in his knife
But the Army trained me to not feel life

Narrow views, all around
Watch us all become the clown

Narrow views, it might be true
But when it comes to him I already knew

Narrows views, to hide the shame
Take a picture, put it in a frame

Narrow views, is that your view?
I don’t remember ever asking you

Narrow views, the bell did ring
But for him, honesty was never waiting

Narrow views, his tongue did lie
Watched him clean the blade, without goodbye

Narrow views, the angel sang
But underneath the sound, he felt her fang

Narrow views, they are to blame
Even your mirror, reflects the same

Narrow views, are buried here
And with a tiny view, you watch me disappear

Narrows views, keep circling
But I’m off the freeway and already exiting

Narrow views, they make me pissed
Then I remembered, I was already over it

Narrows views, he gifted me
But I already had the foresight to see

Narrow views, he doesn’t understand
This hell he keeps, I own the land!

Narrow views, I’ll make it clear
Because I don’t need a foggy atmosphere

Narrow views, stay in your queue
Take responsibility for what you do

Narrow views, whip across my back
As I kneel, from all I lack

Narrow views, I’ll carry your cross
The weight of you, I felt the loss

Narrows views and a broken wing
It was only love I was offering

Landslide

Watch me grow
As I go
Watch me flow
The current of reason
Denial is so last season

You’re down the landslide
I can’t be by your side
It’s where my love died
The moment you told lies

You’re not mysterious
You are a landslide
A soul without conscience
Dead end roads on a fault line
Using your sickness to capsize
Maybe a standup guy by sunrise
Then again, this is real life
And you’ve got that on standby
Or maybe it best if you just drink a load of cyanide

I came, I seen, I saw you fall
With the landslide
I can’t be by your side
That’s where my love died
The moment your eyes lied
You were disqualified

You’re not mysterious
Monsters are easily identified
You’re just a living carcass

No matter, no fuss!

He thinks I give a shit, but I was over him last week
I’m all out of fucks…
Yup zero fucks y’all. I know my worth. ✌

Holy Hour

Let me just write as I see
Without form, elegance or rule

Let me pass them over to you
A gift or curse, I know not anymore

They are not here to ridicule
But I kissed them all just so

That they might fill the sadness
And remove the space for madness

That you may find some light for you to grow
So from my soul I give you seed

It comes with all the things you need
And you won’t need to feel so insecure

This is our holy hour
Love for only you to devour

What other reason need there be?
I am there and you are here with me

So take the ache now from the lead
And spill with ink these words instead

(And make them last permanently)

I love you most so step back from the edge
And now is all the time we ever get

It’s best you come down from the ledge
And remove me from your pages of regret

Erase the wound, under the Moon
Remember that I’ll see you soon

I’ll be around when you want to resume
Our love is sheltered from doom

Deliaology

So I write a bit of poetry
Do you think that makes you know me?
Or from what I drop in my story
You’re an expert at the knowing

So you think that I’m messed up
Or that you have a better cup
You scream “now” and watch me jump
Then disappear after I get hurt

You think you know me all so well
Because I let you see my hell
You think you know what rings my bell
Or if I smile I’m feeling well

You think you have me figured out
Or what to do to make me shout
That I’m unholy or too devout
Or that you made me take this route

You think I’m warm when I am cold
Or it’s the only story told
You think it wrong when I am bold
You pay with lies instead of gold

You think I’m high when I am crying
You think I live while I am dying
You think my love is undermining
Or that I’m never really trying

You think I’m strong when I am weak
I’ve got it all so you think
I don’t deserve what I seek
And you hear words I never speak

Spoken word of this coming soon…

The Kiss

I have this dream where we don’t talk
I’m in an alley having a cigarette
Waiting on a favorite band
And you appear

And I ask ‘what are you doing here’
But sweetly so no other can hear
There’s no one around just the rain
You stand and never explain

I smile anyway without regret
And you haven’t moved closer yet
And in a cloak your eyes are in pain
But I still smile anyway

I’m on the wall under a small balcony
Avoiding getting wet
Your hands are in your pockets
You don’t look as though upset

As the rain gets started
You move and take a step
And it kind of felt like lightening
My heart it felt it best

The patter of the rain –
Grew louder with every footstep
And every inch closer – I forgot more – of the alphabet

You get close to me and lightly touch my fingertips
And then you lift up my arm and take a puff of my cigarette

Your other hand still touching my other hand
You lift my head and kiss my lips
It’s hard to explain it
I thought I was alive but it was really the first thing I ever felt

Truth Comes Hard

Truth came hard like thunder, the sky opened her eyes, flush with rage, she whipped across the night, striking melodies of discord, a witness to betrayal, an immediate downpour of reason, she licks blood from the spear of doubt, her shout echoes into the distant memory of what was, what ever could be, lies dance in ballerina shoes into neverland, but truth comes hard like thunder. I open my gates to her fury, for she is my sister and cry together we did.

Early morning thoughts of truth in my pjs… plus an early morning snap while still sleepy-eyed cuz I wake up like this… messy & honest (it’s a lonely place to be amongst a world of lies).

Poetic Ramblings For The One

Shall I pass the wound to forgiveness
Shall I trust the universal oracle
What of the nest in my soul where your love is my law
Where I suffer for you and I fall
Have you ever loved me at all?
Should I exit the stage of treason
Where she robs me of desire
Where I see the smoke still rising
From the breast of her fire

Are you a mirage of love in a desert of loneliness?
Where I thirst forevermore
I still march along the madness
Of the trail of a whore
Echoes of happiness flash like lightning
Blinding yet spellbinding
And I dream of your shore
Where I wait in an ethereal forever
And I’m always hoping for more

My heart cradles the words for me that you write
It feels like a bandage covering the night
It feels like your hug holding me tight
A breath on my soul saying all is alright
Your lips on my spirit giving me might

In a fever I rush to you like a drug
But in truth you needn’t say a word
I’d love you in silence with only a hug
Your eyes to me they are the world

My road for you is only honey
I wish I were younger and that is my worry
But like an aging forest I offer you mercy
Shelter and warmth and tongues which are loving
I nurture this thirst because I know you are worthy
Even though your doubts keep both eyes blurry

No spells are needed to find my love
Reach out to fate cuz it fits like a glove
And punishments can be reserved for just fun 🙂
Trust me darling, I am the one
I’m not a deck of cards or just another turn

No fancy tricks needed not even a curse
The longer you wait the more that it hurts
I love you for better or for worse
My love is an ocean you better immerse

I’m available as a friend anytime that you want
The balls in your court, please use it not to haunt

xoxo

My birthday is in 3 days!! (August 19th). I am a Leo, a fire sign!! My truelove shall also be a FIRE SIGN! I’d bet my life on it! 🙂

If he is out there or listening (are you out there or listening?) you should say hello. Start with the basics you know. 🙂
Be fearless with me. Freedom. Everything will be okay. But you gotta say hello. “Say something, anything and watch the weather change…”

Messy hair, chilling on the couch me… waiting on my birthday so I can get fat on cupcakes!! 🙂

Vessel

Tell me all you know
Run the hours late
Let’s see how far we can go

Open wide your window
Unlock your hearted gate
Ride the future slow

I am a vessel for your secrets
An alter or your priestess
A mobile stage for your weakness
A friend for when you need it

I can follow or be your guide
When you’re feeling lost inside
And be there if you need a ride
Anytime, I’ll be by your side

Unlike a shadow in the dark
I would never break your heart
I’ve been loyal from the start
I’ve been told love is an art

Feeling so inspired lately… ✌️

Endless Love

I found a dream once
In a bottle
Walking along a white shore
Beaches of the whitest sand

Tides that whisper softly
Wishes and wants in the breeze

The bottle an endless joy
From which I drink again and again

Melancholy a distant sun
Enough to keep warm
But never burn

Oceansize kisses
From his tongue
To my soul

Seagulls swooping
Bringing poetry
In their sails

Skies of glass
And shattered clouds
With every peek he is there

Love is the breeze
From which he descends

A salty essence or tears
From times he cried
When I wasn’t here

The love is life
And I take shelter
Underneath his seashell

My sighs like morning dew
Where everything rises
Into something new

Rebirth in the stars
Fears chase comets
And forget us here

Every footstep a memory
Of what’s to come

A set of two
Of everything we’ve done

A beautiful moon in agreement
Of the life we choose
Forever full

And white beaches
That never end

Age of Reason

I struggle with reason. I dwell on it, rub over it like a pig in mud. Try it on, wear it overnight, sometimes invite it over for the weekend. And when pleasing, cook it a good meal. It takes awhile to break in, like a good pair of shoes that you love but that hurts your feet. They bleed and cause blisters yet you wear them anyway. You think the money or time invested is now worth the pain. So many hours pounding the streets in them. The pain never fades, it burrows and claws its way into every moment, crushing stone as you walk. Time moves on, leaving bitter trails stained with blood, a journey harder than once thought. Your worry weighing down, as peace is not coming back, and it cost more than you originally bought. In the end, you come to know every season. Every why. Every when. Every how. Reason will be an uninvited guest. Knowledge will begin to feel like treason. How could you not know? Until this very moment. With death lingering like a demon.

Vintage

Why can’t for once someone accept my love
Try it on like a pair of pants or gloves
Wear it a bit longer like a stylish cut
Or so many times as you would a favorite
Until it is covered in stains and cigarette burns
And smells of a favorite expensive perfume
It smells of dizzy lovers
Cheap whiskey
Heavy regrets
Well, hopefully not any of those yet
Tattered and torn but the pockets still work
It’s vintage (like the best stuff)
All the hours connected to skin
It wrapped you during any weather
It would do it again
You ponder trashing it in the bin
A gift to charity is less of a burden
Never contemplating sewing it at the hem
Fixing parts where it may be broken

Trying to Forget

You’re coming to town, I heard in the news
You mention her name, it gives me troubling blues
I’ve been that girl, and I’ve fell in her shoes
I forget why I care or how I still hate you
They don’t think I’ve moved on and it’s probably true

But I don’t want you back, I’m the one who left
And the only one who apparently felt
It makes no difference now how many women you get
I was number one and your best asset
I spend all of my time just trying to forget

If

If you never leap
Our hearts will never be fulfilled
I will slowly be climbing
This hill until I’m killed

If you never wake
I will always stay asleep
Trapped in a nightmare
With only fear that I can reap

If you never jump
My heart will always be on stall
Waiting on a spark
Where no one ever heeds the call

If you don’t believe
I will never love at all
You may take in hope
But it’s likely that I’ll fall

Sad Empty Pathetic Lives

One from my private vault, and from two years ago (April 2017). Completely raw and untouched for April Poetry Month.

sad empty pathetic lives… what reruns they are

he’ll never have my love or respect again. he’ll never have my forgiveness and he’s never going to be worthy of my friendship.
but now, to get up and move again… i need to mend.

sometime in the years end
i need to mend
sometime in the years end
i’ll need a friend

you said you would never hurt me again
a weight off my shoulders
yet seven feet in…

sometime in the years end
i need to mend
sometime in the years end
i’ll cry again

behind those large blue eyes
a monster lurks
never a day that ends-
always at work

he said he would never hurt me again
he said he would never

i hate you
and no amount of time
will ever change that

you know what you are,
you know what you did
how would you think
i’d not wish you dead
how did you think
i’d not wish you dead

i need silence inside my head
but there’s violence inside your bed
how did you think i’d not wish you dead

sad empty pathetic lives… what monsters they are

lurking and lusting and
draining souls
i will never relinquish control
i was head deep in
before i could swim
i’m learning how to live again
i’m learning how to live

oh for a brief moment you made me believe
in a fairytale

(but you’re really a monster from hell, tell tell)

oh ye sloth
you were treated like a king
even out of cloth
and lying on your knee

one or two or a thousand
how many hearts now bleed?

i didn’t want to be her, i plead
but you’re still not listening
you have no heart, you see

oh, and good luck on the baby

what hurts most of all, i believed you
and the thing that hurts most is, you knew all along
you knew

this is cruel deception
you are evil incarnate
the dead, risen again
he has no soul

(might as well call me a widow, i’m mourning my soul
the death of my heart)

nocturnal mourning

every morning

i should have seen
all the warnings

hating you is the only way to get through, it’s the only way i will survive. but is it wrong to hate a monster?

Heart Failure

All my plans haven’t gone away
They’ve really just been delayed

People they fret I can’t explain
They all just sort of strayed

It’s not my style to beg or plead
I sometimes require aid

They all want something from me
I have nothing for trade

Many years spent on this journey
Every direction came a grenade

You tell a different story
That isn’t the life that you portrayed

Why do you get all the glory
While I’m prisoner in this stockade

No need for you to hurry
My heart rotted and decayed

Permanent Winter

She owed them a pretty picture
Her soul was pretty injured
She sold it but never got richer
She kept it hid under a fancy fixture
The ones who buy it always get triggered
Pointing at you with their middle finger
Too far away you can’t hear them whisper
The season there is a permanent winter
With a sign that reads “winner winner”
You’ve been fed that lie since you were a beginner
