You take too long
To come down
Still skipping through the city
Leaving footprints of regret
Dirty notes in cracks
Of rundown buildings
Sometimes I receive a request to follow
While mountains are crumbling
And I’ll allow you to swallow
All of my sins
It’s like all of life is condemned
To the swollen sun
To servitude
I’m not convinced
Of any of it
Lost in the desert
But drowning in tears
Rage is a tower built
It’s a fucking circus
Everyone is jumping from stilts
You look vaguely familiar
Perhaps a vulture circling
Where is your spear?
I don’t trust anybody here
Especially faces in the mirror
Biological terrors
I will stare them down!!!!
All my fucking errors!!!!
“See me now”
Cursed and plucking feathers!!!!!
If they only knew
I think you carry my darkness with you like a souvenir
Glowing
You use it like a spotlight shining on our broken dreams
A torchlight for sorrow
I hid for you a skeleton key
And only you are capable of unlocking my doors
But some are sealed with concrete and regret
Maybe I’ve become entombed
Trapped in my own despair
My compass points to your peaks and valleys
I ache in places you resurrect the dead
