In love and war
I do confess
I pushed the test
With nothing more
Than a guess
And heart midwest
I kicked the door
With little stress
An uninvited guest
My love an ocean floor
And hope a treasure chest
With his name addressed
For the one I adore
Maybe in excess
Where vows professed
Inside poetry the decor
Words in luminesce
With my heart compressed
His blue eyes an oar
And motionless
Resting underneath my breast
A creed he swore
In bareness
His heart at rest
Did I restore
A hand since blessed
With one final quest
No love before
Now he does possess
The very best
