Paper Cuts

Words needing mailing
Written pages full of failing
Ink filled with non-stop wailing

Paper cuts and agony
The worst of him is the worst of me
Another year and there’s still longing

Silence and solitude
My point of view
Not over you

Where on the page do I write the amends?
And where does one stop and the other begin?
Who takes the step to be a kinder friend?

I take my dreams on up the river
I sleep on the promise of forever
This is the final chapter

Wake me when you’re ready (x3)
