I just want him to know
I’m trying to let go
Of a sinking boat
And avoid undertow

Drowning seems to be the only solution
Love doesn’t want to die though

So it tries a different form
It tries to love a different way
It gets lost in a storm
Still it loves another day

But like a shark missing its fin
Sinking down, it still can’t swim
When defeat becomes a win
Disillusionment becomes him

I tried to love you as a friend
I tried to love you as an enemy
I tried to love with eyes that couldn’t see
I tried to love the end

I still can’t pretend
That I can love you any other way
And so my heart I defend
The things you always fail to say
